Integrate Callingly With Follow Up Boss

Callingly automatically connects to your Follow Up Boss account, allowing you to instantly trigger calls to your leads using an Action Plan in Follow Up Boss. The call results and recording are then synced back to Follow Up Boss.

Connect Callingly to Follow Up Boss
- 1.
- Navigate to the New Integration page.
- 2.
- Hit the Connect button next to the Follow Up Boss integration. This will cause a panel to slide open on the right side of the screen.

Copy and paste your Follow Up Boss API Key into the appropriate text box. For help obtaining an API key, please see the guide written by Follow Up Boss.
Caution: Be sure to use the Follow Up Boss account owner's API key. A non-owner key will not work. - 4.
- Click the Install Integration button after adding the API key. Callingly will do the rest!
Setup Tags and Settings
Now that your integration is installed, you can set up a few options. This is where you can also change options in the future.
Name
The name of your integration. If using multiple instances of an integration with the same app, it's a good idea to change this to something more descriptive.

Tag That Starts Call

Tag That Stops Call
Tagging a Contact with this Tag in Follow Up Boss will cancel any scheduled calls. This could be through an Action Plan or a manual tag added in Follow Up Boss.

Sync Calls to FUB
Turning this on creates a note in Follow Up Boss with a statement that the call happened. The note will include a link to the call recording in Callingly.

Tag On Call
This field displays if the Sync Calls to FUB field is toggled On. The tag you choose will be applied in Follow Up Boss when the lead has been successfully called.

Sync Unsuccessful Calls to FUB
Turning this on creates a note in Follow Up Boss with a statement that the call was not completed because no users picked up.

This field displays if the Sync Unsuccessful Calls to FUB field is toggled On. The tag you choose will be applied in Follow Up Boss when the lead has not been called.

Sync Lead Owner to FUB
Sync the Lead Owner info in Callingly back to Follow Up Boss if it is changed either manually or automatically after a User is connected with a Lead for the first time.

Field Mapping
The field names in Callingly correspond to the fields associated with People records in Follow Up Boss. You'll select the appropriate field from the dropdown menu based on the information you're using in Follow Up Boss.

Configure Follow Up Boss
To automatically call new leads as soon as they come into your Follow Up Boss account, we recommend creating an Action Plan that tags leads with the tag you've chosen to use in the Tag That Starts Call setting above. Then apply the Action Plan to the Lead Flow for the lead source you want to call.
You'll need to add this Lead Flow to each lead source you want to use with Callingly. We'll walk you through the steps for both of those.
Create an Action Plan
To create an Action Plan in Follow Up Boss:
- 1.
- Navigate to the Admin section of your Follow Up Boss account.
- 2.
- Click on the Action Plans tab.
- 3.
- Name the plan. We've used Tag leads with Callingly - Start Call
- 4.
- Set the Action event that should occur in your Action Plan. In this case, you'll set the Action event as Add tag(s).
- 5.
- Click the Plus button to select which tags to add.
- 6.

Select the appropriate tag(s) or create a new tag in the box that pops up.
Remember to Save Tags before closing the window! - 7.
- Save the Action Plan with the blue button at the top of the screen.
Add the Action Plan to a Lead Flow
After creating your Action Plan, you'll need to add the plan to a Lead Flow, such as Realtor.com. This will allow your action plan to work with one of your lead sources.
To add your Action Plan to a Lead Flow:
- 1.
- Navigate to the Admin section of your Follow Up Boss account.
- 2.
- Click on the Lead Flow tab.
- 3.
- Click on the button to the right of the title Action Plan for the lead source you want. This button will appear differently in every account, based on whether or not you already have a specific action plan applied to the lead source.

- Select the Action Plan you created in the previous step.
- 5.
- Click the Select Action Plan button to save the changes.
Syncing Calls and Lead Owner
If you opt to have your Calls and Lead Owners synced between Callingly and Follow Up Boss, you'll need to go into each User's Callingy profile and select their Follow Up Boss User account.
To do this, from your Callingly dashboard:
- 1.
- Go to the Users page of your Callingly account.
- 2.
- Click the Edit button for the User you want to change.
- 3.
- Select the correct user via the drop down menu under the Follow Up Boss User heading.
Next steps
- Test the integration by creating a new fake lead in your Follow Up Boss account. This should automatically call Callingly, which will route the phone call to the phone number you provided when you signed up for your trial.
- Create your Team. Right now, you're the only one who will receive calls through Callingly — that's no good! Create your Callingly Team so they can start answering calls.
- Set the Call Schedule. Once you've added your Team, you'll want to set the Schedule for when they can receive calls. This way, nobody will receive a call outside of work hours.
Pro-tip
Use Follow Up Boss and Callingly with multiple teams.
It's possible to have different teams in Callingly that automatically call different leads from Follow Up Boss. To do this, you'll simply create multiple instances of the Follow Up Boss integration on the Callingly integrations page.
After creating a new instance of the integration, you will then need to create a unique action plan using a unique tag and assign a unique team
Common questions
How do I ensure the correct fields are synced between Follow Up Boss and Callingly?
On the Integrations page in Callingly, you can select the fields from FUB that match the Calling fields. Simply choose the appropriate item for Follow Up Boss from the dropdown menu for each Callingly field. We provide more detail about this in the field mapping section above.
How do I stop any further calls if a User contacts a Lead outside of Callingly?
Create a tag in Follow Up Boss as outlined under the Stop Call Tag section above. If you want to stop a lead from being called, add that tag to the lead in Follow Up Boss.
